Job summary

The Claysburg Area Pubic Library is seeking a Library Director to lead a rural library serving Claysburg, East Freedom, and parts of Bedford County. The position is full-time (35 hours per week) with occasional evenings and weekends.

Salary ranges from $27,000 to $30,000 annually, commensurate with qualifications and experience. The successful candidate will plan, organize, direct, and evaluate library resources, programs, and staff under the Library Board.

Qualifications

• Two academic years of college with nine library science credits OR two academic years with nine library science credits from an accredited institution.
• Experience in a library system or public service is preferred.
• FBI and PA clearances for background checks required.
• Demonstrated leadership in a nonprofit or community organization.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily library operations and programs.
• Administer budget, goals, and policies.
• Supervise staff, payroll, and benefits.
• Coordinate community programs and outreach.
• Promote services to community groups and at events.
• Prepare monthly and district reports and participate in board meetings.
