Job summary

The Maryland State Library Agency (MSLA) is seeking a Research and Data Coordinator to lead the state public library statistics program, coordinate the annual public library report, and manage surveys to collect library data.

You will provide guidance to internal and external stakeholders, promote use of statistics for budgeting and services, and work with library directors and administrators to design and interpret data-driven insights.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or 36 credit hours post-baccalaureate required.
• Four years of administrative experience in data analysis or business insights.
• Experience coordinating data/research in public libraries or government.

Responsibilities

• Lead Maryland’s State Data Coordinator role and collaborate on national initiatives.
• Design the public library annual report and generate state-level data.
• Collect, clean, submit, and analyze data to IMLS for the Public Library Survey.
• Advise libraries on data collection, reporting, and use; coordinate surveys.
