Public Landscapes Manager

Position Overview

King of Prussia is experiencing unprecedented economic growth and urban transformation with over $9 billion in development projects and CRE transactions since 2010, including mixed-use projects, multifamily housing and retail expansion. King of Prussia District plays a critical role in guiding and supporting this transformation.

We are now seeking a dedicated and skilled Public Landscapes Manager to lead physical improvement and transportation projects, oversee design and construction operations and manage the maintenance of public enhancements throughout the District. This full-time position will report to the Director of Capital Projects and Planning and collaborate closely with internal staff and external partners.

The successful candidate will bring strong leadership and project management capabilities, a background in landscape and site design, landscape maintenance and construction, and a hands-on, team-oriented approach. This is a small, fast-paced organization that values initiative, creativity and a good sense of humor. The ideal candidate must be comfortable managing multiple priorities and working collaboratively to help shape the future of King of Prussia.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage design, construction and maintenance efforts for all physical improvement and transportation projects.
  • Manage consultants and contractors including landscape architects, planners, engineers, fabricators and construction firms.

3.Oversee the long-term maintenance of existing public realm improvements including landscaping, signage and infrastructure upgrades.

4.Manage vendor contracts and service agreements for landscaping and other physical improvement services.

5.Ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget, and in accordance with all quality and safety standards.

6.Assist the Director of Capital Projects and Planning with securing funding for capital projects through grants, sponsorships and partnerships; manage grant compliance and reporting.

7.Collaborate with the President & CEO and other staff on organizational projects and events as needed.

8.Present project updates and plans to stakeholders, community groups, municipal staff and King of Prussia District’s committees.

9.Support communications by providing updates and visuals for newsletters, social media and King of Prussia District’s website.

10.Participate in events and serve as a representative of King of Prussia District at public meetings and forums.

11.Help compile information for the annual King of Prussia District Report to the Community.

Qualifications

·Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, Construction Management, Environmental Design or related field preferred.

·Minimum 2 years of experience in public space design, construction management, landscape architecture or related fields.

·Experience in managing capital improvement projects and coordinating with design professionals and contractors.

·Familiarity with sustainable landscape design, maintenance operations and urban infrastructure.

·Strong management skills; capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously.

·Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

·Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook for Mac); experience in a Mac-based environment is preferred.

·Knowledge of design software (CAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite) is helpful but not required.

·Experience working in or with non-profits, municipalities or business improvement districts is a plus.

·A collaborative spirit, attention to detail and ability to work effectively in a small team environment.

·Salary range - $50,000 - $60,000/year.
