Qualifications

Licensed as an attorney by the State of Texas
In good standing with the State Bar of Texas and eligible to practice law in Texas by start date.
Knowledge of civil rights, constitutional and employment law relevant to the General Litigation Division

Responsibilities

Represent state agencies and officials in defense of lawsuits involving civil rights, employment, and constitutional issues in state and federal court.
Provide legal advice, counsel and assistance to state agencies; prepare and file briefs in appellate courts.
Conduct legal research, investigations, and prepare complex motions and pleadings; assist on trial teams and in discovery.
Prepare and try cases in state and federal courts; collaborate with colleagues across divisions to handle complex matters.
