Job summary

Mercor is seeking experienced Public Interest Attorneys to evaluate AI-generated legal reasoning across civil justice matters. You will review realistic legal scenarios, assess legal analysis, identify reasoning gaps, and provide structured expert feedback to improve AI performance. This role is ideal for attorneys with backgrounds in nonprofit advocacy, civil litigation, impact litigation, or public interest law.

Location: Remote (United States). Commitment: Approximately 15 hours/week.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) required.
• Active U.S. bar admission.
• 5+ years in public interest or civil litigation.
• Strong civil legal advocacy experience.
• Excellent legal writing and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Review AI-generated legal analyses for accuracy and usefulness.
• Evaluate housing, family law, consumer protection, debt collection, and bankruptcy scenarios.
• Assess legal reasoning, issue spotting, procedural correctness, and litigation strategy.
• Identify legal errors and propose improvements.
• Deliver structured written evaluations.
