Job summary

Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office is seeking a District Attorney investigator to support prosecutors by locating and interviewing witnesses, conducting supplemental pretrial investigations, and helping build strong cases across a range of assignments in a major Southern California county.

The role includes collaboration with diverse law enforcement agencies, potential promotion after a 12‑month probation, and access to POST certification bonuses.

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of full‑time law enforcement experience within the last three (3) years as a peace officer or as an investigator with the Federal Government.
• An Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college or university.
• Possession of a valid California POST Basic Certificate or higher.

Responsibilities

• Assist in criminal case investigations by gathering and reviewing information to support prosecution.
• Interview victims, witnesses, and suspects; photograph crime scenes and take measurements.
• Conduct interviews and collect evidence to support prosecutions and enforce court orders.
• Maintain and update knowledge of investigatory methods and procedures.
• Drive throughout Los Angeles County to carry out essential investigative functions.
