Job summary

The City of San Jose invites applications for a full-time Public Information Representative I/II in the Office of the Fire Chief. This role supports public information and community engagement, overseeing outreach, multilingual education materials, and social media content.

The PIR will coordinate outreach to diverse communities, develop safety campaigns, assist with media relations, and help with events and website updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, advertising, marketing, public relations, public administration, or related field.
• No minimum experience required for PIR I.
• Two years of progressive public information/public relations experience for PIR II.

Responsibilities
