Maricopa County Environmental Services seeks a Vector Control Specialist to conduct surveillance, testing, and treatment activities under Environmental Health Code enforcement. The role involves field and office work, complaint resolution, and community education.

The ideal candidate has at least one year in vector control, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid Arizona driver’s license. A state pesticide certification or ability to obtain it within 120 days is required, with opportunities

Qualifications

• One year of pest or vector control experience.
• High school diploma or GED; post-secondary education may substitute year-for-year.
• Valid Arizona certification or ability to obtain within 120 days of hire.
• Ability to obtain a valid Arizona driver's license by hire date.

Responsabilités

• Evaluate problems and apply biological, chemical, or physical control methods.
• Set and retrieve mosquito and rodent traps; collect specimens and identify species.
• Maintain field records and daily activity reports with all materials used.
• Investigate mosquito, rodent and other vector complaints and ensure timely resolution.
• Coordinate with owners, agencies and the public to abate vector issues.
