Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in epidemiology, biostatistics, public health, biology, microbiology or related field; two years epidemiological experience.
• Two years with Pima County in a related epidemiology role may substitute education/experience as determined by department head.
• Preferred: experience with SAS, R or Stata and dashboarding software (Power BI, Tableau, Qlik).

Responsibilities

• Collects, analyzes, and interprets epidemiologic data to assess disease incidence, prevalence, trends, risk factors, and health disparities.
• Designs, implements, and evaluates disease surveillance systems, outbreak investigations, and epidemiologic studies.
• Monitors disease patterns to detect outbreaks, clusters, and transmission pathways; analyses environmental and social factors.
• Develops and maintains dashboards and reports to communicate findings to clinicians, public health officials, and the public.
• Collaborates with stakeholders to support disease prevention, health promotion, and policy development.
