Job summary

NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is seeking Special Officers to perform security, safety and order maintenance duties across NYC facilities. The role requires Peace Officer certification and the ability to respond to emergencies and patrol multiple sites.

Qualifications

• A four-year high school diploma or equivalent approved by a state's education department.
• Must be designated as Peace Officers and complete NYS Peace Officer training and certification.

Responsibilities

• Respond to emergency incidents.
• Maintain heightened security at key locations and secure other Health Department facilities across the five boroughs.
• Patrol unstaffed locations.
• Complete complaint and incident reports.
• Conduct interior and exterior patrols of DOHMH facilities.
• Work rotating tours including nights and holidays as needed.
