Job summary

City of Irving is looking for a Sanitarian/Code Enforcement Officer to inspect food facilities, childcare sites, and nursing homes for code compliance. You will handle inquiries, prepare reports, and testify in court when required.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree with 30 science hours, two years of relevant experience, Texas driver’s license, and licensure or ability to obtain Sanitarian and Code Enforcement Officer licenses. A résumé must accompany the application.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Inspect food establishments, temporary food event vendors, childcare facilities and nursing homes for compliance.
• Respond to questions and complaints from the public and City staff.
• Recommend ordinance revisions and prepare reports and maintain records.
• Negotiate solutions for compliance, issue citations and prepare cases for court.
