Job summary

UC San Diego is seeking a Research Data Analyst in the Herbert Wertheim School of Public Health and Human Longevity Science. The position supports research projects by maintaining databases, performing data management, and generating routine summaries using SAS, R, Stata, or JMP.

Under supervision, you will help with data quality, organize documentation, and assist faculty, staff, students, and trainees in locating and accessing research resources.

Qualifications

• Four years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area.
• Acquiring knowledge of research function and ability to perform research analysis duties.
• Acquiring statistical analysis, systems programming, and database design skills for research analysis.
• Ability to manage time and see assigned parts through to completion on deadline.
• Basic consultation and communication skills.
• Ability to communicate results to scientists and others and knowledge of data analysis pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Maintain databases and perform data entry and verification.
• Clean datasets according to established procedures and assist with data organization.
• Run predefined programs in SAS, R, Stata, or JMP to produce routine summaries under direction.
• Assist with literature searches and summarize findings for research staff.
• Support presentation of research results and help with study documentation.
