Job summary

The El Dorado County Health and Human Services Agency is seeking a Health Program Specialist to support a range of public health initiatives in Placerville. You will coordinate and deliver health education, prevention programs, and community outreach, gathering data and assisting partner organizations to ensure efficient service delivery.

You will engage with diverse communities, facilitate trainings, and help develop program policies.

Qualifications

Equivalent to two years of college level coursework in sociology, psychology, social services, public administration or a related field.
Two years of paid or unpaid experience conducting community education or outreach activities, or four years of increasingly responsible experience providing technical and administrative support to a specific public health program.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license.
Spanish language ability preferred; bilingual may receive differential pay for hours in pay status.

Responsibilities

Serve as the primary contact for numerous public health services.
Organize, promote and conduct public meetings involving service providers and community agencies.
Assist in development of program policies and procedures; provide information to participants, consumers, community groups, service providers and other agencies regarding program procedures.
Schedule, coordinate and facilitate educational training programs.
Prepare program plans and evaluations; conduct in-service training and workshops pertaining to assigned Public Health programs.
