Description: The Tennessee Department of Health's Division of Family Health and Wellness (FHW) is hiring a Public Health Program Director 2, for the Tobacco Use Prevention and Control Program housed in the Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion Section. The program director will address the smoking cessation support for Tennessee residents with the highest burden of tobacco and vape use by supporting the implementation of evidence-based interventions, convening stakeholders, and incorporating epidemiologic data to reduce the incidence and burden statewide.
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor's degree in public health, education, or a related field and experience equivalent to five or more years of full-time, increasingly responsible professional health program work, including at least two years of full-time supervisory work or statewide program oversight.
This hybrid position has in-person attendance expected for the first day of employment for laptop deployment and onboarding in Nashville, TN. Required in-person attendance for quarterly meetings, and other in-person may be required for other meetings and professional development opportunities. Travel to Nashville will not be reimbursed; however, travel for site visits may be reimbursed by the state. Position is renewable through 2027. Position is full-time, 37.5 hours per week. Weekly work schedule is Monday-Friday from 8:00AM to 4:30PM, with no overtime allowed.
