This role involves fieldwork, statewide duties, and travel. The incumbent will perform nutrition assessments, counseling, and education, and collaborate with WIC peers and local resources to promote healthy outcomes.

Qualifikationen

• Four years of experience working as a WIC Clinic Nutrition Educator or in patient care.
• Twelve semester hours in food and nutrition or dietetics plus three years of experience working as a WIC Clinic Nutrition Educator or in patient care.
• An associate's degree in nutrition, dietetics, human ecology, family and consumer science, health promotion, pre-medicine, or nursing plus two years of experience working as a WIC Clinic Nutrition Educator.
• A bachelor's degree in nutrition, dietetics, human ecology, family and consumer science, health promotion, pre-medicine, or nursing.

Aufgaben

• Determines participant eligibility, evaluates nutritional and medical information, assigns risk factors, prescribes food packages, and provides certification and recertification services for WIC.
• Performs comprehensive nutritional assessments and develops care plans with counseling and education.
• Provides breastfeeding education, counseling, and support to WIC participants and the community, coordinating referrals to providers and resources.
• Conducts anthropometric measurements and hemoglobin testing; assists with benefit issuance, breast pump tracking, and formula orders while ensuring policy compliance.
• Supports WIC operations and outreach by conducting community events, providing LAWIN data entry support, and training staff and students.
