Job summary

Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is seeking a Community Health Nurse Supervisor to lead nursing staff and guide public health programs across the Southwest District. This role focuses on supervision, community engagement, and program development to protect and improve health outcomes for Pennsylvanians.

You will coordinate with community partners, oversee disease surveillance, and drive clinical leadership across districts, ensuring responsive and effective public health services statewide.

Qualifications

• Three years as a Community Health Nurse (Commonwealth title or equivalent Federal Government title per Office of Administration).
• Four years of community health nursing experience.
• An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Responsibilities

• Disease Oversight: Ensure case investigations and surveillance for reportable diseases using approved systems and manuals.
• Clinical Leadership: Direct clinical practices and guide staff in delivering public health services.
• Program Planning: Plan and direct clinical services, emergency response activities, and community initiatives.
• Community Assessment: Lead community health assessments to identify priorities and address local needs.
• Partner Coordination: Direct staff in working with agencies, schools, and health professionals to support public health initiatives.
• Committee Representation: Represent the department on committees and advocate for public health programs.
