Job summary

Health & Human Services Commission (HHSC) in Austin seeks an Applications IT Group Manager to lead diverse software projects and operations within the Infectious Disease/PHID domain. You will supervise project teams, drive SDLC processes, and align IT services with agency goals.

The role requires strong management, expertise in Agile/Waterfall methods, and delivering value to public health programs. Hybrid onsite work in Austin with potential for some telework is offered.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university.
• Related work experience may substitute for the required education.
• 5 years’ management or leadership experience of software development personnel.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of business software applications.
• Manage production systems maintenance and new development projects.
• Coordinate SDLC activities using Agile and Waterfall.
