Job summary

Nebraska DHHS is seeking an IT Applications Developer to support Public Health projects in Lincoln, NE. You will work on front-end and back-end Java applications using Eclipse IDE, Azure DevOps, GIT, and MS SQL.

You’ll analyze requirements with business analysts, design solutions, write code, perform tests, and provide production support across multiple business areas. Strong collaboration with stakeholders, and adherence to coding standards are essential.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Qualifications: Experience, education, or training in coding computer applications.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in CS/IS/Engineering or related field.
  • Preferred: 1 year Java experience; 1 year using Java IDE; 2 years SQL; 2 years web development.
  • Desirable: Azure services, RESTful Web Services, JSON, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, Tomcat, Jira, and Agile experience.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with business analysts to determine system requirements.
  • Design, code, test, and deploy front-end and back-end components.
  • Perform analysis, research enhancements, and provide production support.
  • Collaborate with staff to determine technical solutions for business needs.
