Job summary

The Florida Department of Health in St. Johns County seeks an OPS Environmental Specialist I to conduct program inspections under BMW, Tattooing, and Tanning Facilities. You will review complaints, perform follow-ups, and maintain records in EH databases, working under supervision to support public health in Florida.

You’ll handle inspections, data entry, plan reviews as needed, and contribute to timely investigations while ensuring safety and compliance across environmental health programs.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections (initial, routine, and follow-up) for BMW, Tattooing, and Tanning Facilities.
• Review and investigate complaints related to BMW establishments.
• Complete follow-up for complaints or investigations.
• Work with supervisor on plan reviews as necessary.
• Complete inspections and follow-up for tattoo establishments.
• Perform data entry and maintain records in Environmental Health databases.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
