Job summary

The Purchase District Health Department seeks a Maintenance/Custodial Worker to support the Paducah-McCracken County Health Center. You will perform routine maintenance, groundskeeping, minor repairs, and general facility support to keep the building safe, clean, and functional for staff and the public.

This full-time or part-time role offers a starting wage of $17.00 per hour with a 5% increase after six months, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in general maintenance, custodial work, groundskeeping, or a related field preferred.
• Basic knowledge of hand and power tools.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical labor indoors and outdoors.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine building maintenance and general repairs.
• Conduct groundskeeping duties.
• Perform custodial/janitorial work, including cleaning floors, restrooms, windows, etc.
• Assist with minor plumbing repairs and basic facility troubleshooting.
• Maintain and repair locks, keys, and door hardware and common areas to maintain a safe and sanitary environment.
• Assist with moving equipment, furniture setup, and general facility needs.
• Identify and report safety concerns or maintenance issues.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and departmental policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
