Responsibilities

• Interprets regulatory and analytical data to document compliance.
• Investigate complaints and provide environmental education and technical assistance.
• Perform inspections, interviews, and reviews; recommend enforcement actions.
• Plan and conduct facility audits and inspections.
• Prepare sampling plan and collect samples per procedures.
• Provide information to public, regulated community, and enforcement officers.
• Respond to environmental emergencies and conduct safety evaluations.
• Review permit applications and issue permits per rules.
• Ensure compliance with state and federal environmental laws.

Education

Bachelor’s degree with 27 semester hours (or 40 quarter hours) in laboratory sciences

One year of experience at PH Environmental Health Specialist 1 or equivalent
