Job summary

Under general direction, the Nutrition Specialist delivers advanced dietary and nutrition counseling for Maternal Child Health programs in clinic or home settings. Develops care plans and serves as a nutrition expert across community programs.

Responsibilities include conducting assessments, client-centered counseling, breastfeeding support, and coordination with providers, while ensuring accurate documentation in the electronic health record.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in dietetics, foods and nutrition required.
• Registered with the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics; RDN-Eligible considered.

Responsibilities

• Promotes nutrition education and counseling for Maternal Child Health programs.
• Staff WIC clinics, perform health and nutrition screenings and assessments.
• Provide breastfeeding support and referrals; coordinate with healthcare providers.
