Job summary

NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is seeking a Data Analyst to support data-driven management and reporting for HIV care and treatment programs. You will help design data collection tools, maintain standard reports, and assist stakeholders with data insights.

The role involves analyzing diverse datasets, improving data quality, and producing presentations for internal and external audiences. Collaboration with IT and clinical teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with federated and state‑compliant HIV services reporting.
• Experience with data systems specifications, documentation, testing, data collection tools, and user support/technical assistance.
• Ability to develop, maintain, and present standard reports for the HIV Care and Treatment Program and its stakeholders.
• Familiarity with SAS, Tableau, and data visualization.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Support data‑driven management and standardized, federally and state‑compliant HIV services provider reporting.
• Contribute to data systems specifications, documentation, testing, data collection tools, and/or user support/technical assistance.
• Assist with developing, maintaining, and presenting standard reports for the HIV Care and Treatment Program and its stakeholders.
• Participate in core unit activities, including cleaning, managing, matching, analyzing, and displaying process and outcomes data, and responding to ad‑hoc data requests using analytic software packages (primarily SAS).
• Help integrate data from different systems as needed to ensure data quality and completeness.
• Contribute to every stage of the research and evaluation process, from building systems for data collection, to analysis, to producing reports, presentations, and papers for public dissemination.
• Serve in local public health responses to emergencies.
