Job summary

NORTHERN KENTUCKY HEALTH DEPARTMENT seeks a Clinic Registered Dietitian (Clinic RD) to provide medical nutrition education, counseling, and related services in a clinic setting, serving the Northern Kentucky community with professionalism and confidentiality.

The role is full-time, 40 hours weekly, with typical schedules Mon–Fri 8:00–5:00 or Mon–Thu 8:00–6:00 and Fri 8:00–2:30. Initial assignments include Covington, Florence, Newport, or Williamstown health centers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Dietetics or related field approved by the Kentucky Board of Licensure or the Commission on Dietetic Registration; and completion of Dietetics Internship or AND program.
• Master’s Degree required to attain licensure to work as an RD in the United States (effective Jan 1, 2024).
• Registration as a Registered Dietitian and maintain throughout incumbency.
• License to work as an RD in Kentucky per KRS.310.021-310.990.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical nutrition counseling to clients referred from health department services.
• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nutrition program(s).
• Perform nutrition health screenings by interview and/or physical examination.
• Provide nutrition services and education according to policies and AR; follow WIC and Nutrition Manual guidance.
• Offer one-on-one or group education on nutritional issues and program benefits.
• Refer to community resources and coordinate with other health disciplines.
• Document services using appropriate workflows.
• Participate in student educational experiences.
• Assist with community outreach and offsite clinics and programs.
