Assistant Professor of Public Health School of Nursing and Health Professions - Trinity Washington University

Salary Range: 85k to 95k (Annually)

Trinity Washington University, a comprehensive university in the Nation's capital, offering a broad range of educational programs that prepare students across the lifespan for the intellectual, ethical and spiritual dimensions of contemporary work, civic and family life seeks a dynamic *Public Health Assistant Professor *within the School of Nursing and Health Professions.

*Position Summary*

This is a full-time, 12-month faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor in the School of Nursing and Health Professions. The individual will teach 2 courses in the undergraduate program and 2 courses in the graduate program each semester, advise students, contribute to service to the department and school, and help build partnerships with community agencies to support the public health and health services programs.

*Minimum Qualifications*

• Doctorate in public health or closely related field
• A record of high-quality undergraduate and graduate teaching and mentoring
• Expertise in social behavioral public health, public health communication, and qualitative research methods
• Demonstrated ability to engage in the CEPH accreditation process for standalone graduate program in public health
• Experience in increasing social justice within an academic environment
• Demonstrated experience using face-to-face and virtual teaching modalities
  
  

*Major Responsibilities*

• Teach 8 courses per academic year. Course assignments include a variety of undergraduate and graduate courses encompassing introductory courses, social and behavioral public health, epidemiology, research, program planning and evaluation, practicum, and capstone.
• Advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate students.
• Serve on department, college, and university committees, as well as play an active role in professional associations
• Maintain an active scholarship program
• Assist with CEPH accreditation process
• Assist with Public Health and Health Services program development
• Perform service-related activities for the department and the school.
• Demonstrate a commitment to social justice and student success, as well as working with broadly diverse communities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
