Job summary

The Fund for Public Health in New York City (FPHNYC) seeks a Public Health Advisor to support the AIDS/Hepatitis, HIV, and STI programs within DOHMH. This role focuses on partner services for newly diagnosed individuals, linkage to care, and outreach across NYC’s five boroughs.

Responsibilities include interview-led partner notification, data collection for surveillance, and potential reassignment to emergency response as needed. Strong communication and multilingual skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree with health education credits or related field.
• Experience in public health interventions or disease prevention is a plus.
• Fluent English; multilingual abilities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Interview HIV-diagnosed persons to elicit exposures and notify partners.
• Connect persons with new HIV diagnosis to clinical care.
• Trace and locate HIV-diagnosed persons not in care and engage partners.
• Provide HIV rapid testing in mobile settings in outreach efforts.
• Support emergency response work as needed by Surveillance/Epidemiology or Clinical Operations.
