Job summary

Dakota County is hiring for a part-time Public Health administrative support role in Apple Valley. The position handles high-volume inbound calls, supports the Women, Infants, & Children program, and ensures accurate data entry with strong attention to detail.

Qualification requires an Associate degree with admin experience, or a high school diploma with three years of experience, or a combination totaling three years.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or higher with one year admin experience in an office.
• High School Diploma with three years admin experience in an office.
• Combination of education and experience totaling 3 years.

Responsibilities

• Serves as program or department liaison for community partners, customers, and clients to respond to inquiries or resolve service issues.
• Responds to inquiries and resolves service issues leveraging state and county databases.
• Processes program information, verifies and enters information into data systems with data integrity.
• Recommends and develops internal work methods and assists with new procedures and processes.
• Coordinates initial screening for programs by assessing service needs in person or on the phone.
• Assesses applicant needs against available community resources and may assist with application completion.
• May determine eligibility for certain programs and initiate client or provider contact.
• Provides admin support: organize forms, maintain documents, maintain office equipment, manage mail and faxes.
• Performs special projects in support of department programs.
• Other duties as assigned.
