Job summary

Summit County Public Health in Akron, Ohio is seeking an Accountant to join our Fiscal Department. This full-time role handles day-to-day accounting, budget management, and grant administration while ensuring regulatory compliance and timely reporting.

You will balance ledgers, process invoices, compile reports, and collaborate across departments using Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. A Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting and knowledge of government accounting are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
• Valid Ohio driver's license and insured vehicle.
• Proficiency in government accounting principles and software.

Responsibilities

• Deliver day-to-day accounting services, process invoices and vouchers, balance accounts, and post journal entries.
• Oversee complex budget accounts, assist with financial forecasting, and manage grants and transfers.
• Prepare and submit bi-weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports to management and funders; reconcile balances by the 15th.
• Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations in fiscal operations.
• Collaborate across departments to support fiscal operations and data integrity.
• Utilize Microsoft Office and Google Workspace to manage financial data and reporting.
