Job summary

The City of San Mateo Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a Golf Services Manager to oversee daily golf course operations, staff, and related facilities. You will develop goals, supervise maintenance, and manage contracts and budgets while implementing improvements and staying current with industry trends.

Ideal candidates bring experience in public-sector golf operations, strong leadership, and a track record of coordinating with multiple city departments to deliver exceptional public

Qualifications

• Knowledge of golf course maintenance and administration.
• Experience negotiating and administering contracts in public agencies.
• Supervising staff, planning work, and evaluating performance.
• Strong report writing and budgeting capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all golf course daily functions, operations and staff.
• Administer concessionaire and food & beverage contracts.
• Prepare and manage the division budget; plan major renovations.
• Maintain golf operations technology and liaise with City departments.
