Job summary

Habitat for Humanity International is seeking a Public Funding Coordinator to secure and administer public funding for our real estate development priorities. The role ensures compliance with funding requirements and maintains records, systems, and reporting to support successful project delivery.

The position is full-time, non-exempt/hourly with core hours Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m. Hybrid scheduling may be available to support work-life balance.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of experience in public funding administration, grant administration, affordable housing, project coordination, regulatory compliance, or a related field.
  • Experience interpreting funding agreements, regulations, or compliance requirements and coordinating documentation, reporting, and fund disbursements.
  • Experience managing multiple projects with competing deadlines while working with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience administering federal, state, county, or municipal funding programs

Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned portfolio of public funding opportunities aligned with organizational production schedules and strategic priorities by:
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with municipal, state, and federal funding agencies.
  • Preparing and submitting funding applications and supporting documentation for development projects, restoration projects, and organizational grants.
  • Coordinating funding disbursement requests and providing project status updates to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Monitoring project progress and supporting departments in meeting funding requirements, timelines, and compliance obligations.
  • Compiling funding information, buyer assistance programs, and subordinate financing terms for TCHFH Lending, Inc.
  • Partner with the Real Estate Development team throughout project planning and implementation to secure funding, communicate funding restrictions, and ensure compliance with award requirements.
  • Review funding agreements, identify operational impacts, and recommend revisions to internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate funding records, reporting systems, and historical documentation to support compliance, audits, portfolio management, and organizational continuity.

Your Work Schedule

Full Time, Non-Exempt/Hourly



  • Core business hours are Monday-Friday between 8:30 a.m.-5:00 p.m.

  • Flexible scheduling may be available.

  • Hybrid scheduling (work from home) may be available.

Required Qualifications

Education, credentials, and experience:

High School diploma or GED


3–5 years of experience in public funding administration, grant administration, affordable housing, project coordination, regulatory compliance, or a related field.


Experience interpreting funding agreements, regulations, or compliance requirements and coordinating documentation, reporting, and fund disbursements.


Experience managing multiple projects with competing deadlines while working with internal and external stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

Education, credentials, and experience:


  • Bachelor’s degree in Housing Studies, Urban Studies, Public Administration, Political Science, Finance, Nonprofit Management, Project Management, or a related field, and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with affordable housing finance, community development, or real estate development.

  • Experience administering federal, state, county, or municipal funding programs

  • Experience working for a nonprofit organization, governmental agency, housing authority, or community development organization.


Physical Requirements And Work Environment

Sedentary work that primarily involves sitting or standing, often for prolonged periods.


The work is performed in an office environment with minor exposure to dust, dirt and conditions normally found on floor surfaces, desks, and furniture.


Tools and equipment used

Basic Proficiency in MS Office, Microsoft Excel, email and use of the Internet.
