Job summary

Face to Face Health and Counseling is seeking a Public Funding Coordinator to manage government grants and contracts, including city, county, state and federal opportunities. The role is full-time at 37.5 hours per week and requires onsite work with some remote hours during a flex arrangement.

You will coordinate grant applications, identify funding sources, track timelines, ensure program alignment and produce reporting packages.

ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW

Face to Face Health and Counseling is a nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing economic and health equity for youth ages 11–24. We do this work through a comprehensive approach that includes medical, mental health, housing, education and employment, youth justice, and community programs. We take a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach to our work and center the needs of young people impacted by racism and other forms of oppression and marginalization. Founded in 1972, Face to Face serves more than 4,000 youth annually.

JOB SUMMARY

The Public Funding Coordinator is responsible for all functions related to securing and monitoring funding through government grants and contracts, including city, county, state, and federal opportunities. This is a full-time position at 37.5 hours a week.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Coordinate the process of public grant applications including research, planning, writing, compliance, and reporting.
  • Research and identify new sources of funding and work with staff to assess their appropriateness to the mission, strategic plan, budget, and organization capacity.
  • Track the grant application process and support staff in managing deadlines.
  • Collaborate with program staff to ensure all applications reflect program priorities and work accurately.
  • Write applications with a social justice lens and center the experiences and needs of youth.
  • Review grant award notices and contracts and make recommendations to staff on the appropriateness of acceptance.
  • Complete grant acceptance process and create a summary grant details and compliance.
  • Facilitate the post-grant award process by ensuring that program managers, data specialist, and the Finance Department understand contract/grant program provisions, budget elements, and reporting requirements.
  • Monitor grant compliance and notify team of any potential noncompliance issues as soon as possible. Request modifications to grant workplans and/or budgets in writing as needed.
  • Track reporting requirements and deadlines and coordinate staff efforts to meet those deadlines.
  • Coordinate with program and finance staff to prepare reports and gather narrative, data, and financial information to retain public funding.
  • Maintain electronic and hard copy files for all grants and contracts.
  • Maintain professional working relationships with staff, youth, funding entities, other nonprofits, and the community.
  • Provides all services guided by the Nine Evidence-Based Principles for Helping Youth Overcome Homelessness; and
  • Step in and help to "get the job done" as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
  • Working knowledge of grant writing and reporting processes.
  • Proven capacity to effectively communicate in writing.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and proven capacity to manage projects.
  • Ability to meet multiple competing deadlines.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly and strategically.
  • Ability to work independently, exercising good judgment in involving others when necessary.
  • Demonstrated ability to work and communicate effectively with people of diverse ethnic, economic, racial, and cultural backgrounds.

LOCATION

Essential Onsite Flex – This role requires the employee to be onsite, with the possibility of some specific and limited remote hours. Employees are required to be fully on site during the initial three‑month training period.

PAY & BENEFITS
  • The pay rate for this position is between $36 and $38, based on qualifications.
  • Face to Face offers benefits which include health, dental, short-term disability, long-term disability, life insurance, 403b account (3% employer match) as well as 23 days of PTO and 11 paid holidays.
  • This position is part of a unionized bargaining group, represented by SEIU Healthcare MN & IA. As part of a unionized environment, employees in this role may be required to join the union or pay union dues.
