Job summary

Piper Sandler is seeking an undergraduate intern for Summer 2027 to support the Public Finance division in our Minneapolis, MN office. The internship provides exposure to underwriting and financial advisory services for state & local governments and not-for-profit entities.

Anticipated pay is $21 per hour. This role develops Excel-based debt models, uses standard software, and offers opportunities to learn from senior staff while contributing to meaningful projects.

Qualifications

• Excellent oral, written communication, research, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong analytical ability with proven interest in financial markets.
• Detail oriented.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Word & Excel.
• Knowledge of Tableau is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

• Work within, create, and update Microsoft Excel spreadsheets.
• Use certain industry-standard software to calculate debt schedules, sources & uses etc.
• Occasionally attend meetings with senior staff; prepare deliverables to support those meetings.
• Assist Public Finance team with projects and assignments.
