Job summary

Assured Guaranty Ltd. invites interns to join its Public Finance team for a summer program in New York. Interns will assist with origination and credit underwriting across U.S.

Public Finance, with opportunities in credit analysis, data handling, and marketing support. Roles include collaborating with data vendors, analyzing market information, and supporting modernization initiatives using company-approved AI tools.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in Excel, Bloomberg, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work on a small team and manage multiple responsibilities.
• Willingness to learn new skills and adapt quickly.
• Basic knowledge of fixed income or capital markets preferred.
• Strong programming skills in Python and SQL are necessary for some positions.
• Candidates studying finance, economics, mathematics, accounting, information technology, or similar subjects will be prioritized.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with third-party data vendors and clients to request financial information to be entered into underwriting software.
• Monitor and analyze market information for internal and external clients.
• Conduct ad-hoc data analysis and modeling to support credit analysts.
• Interact with credit analysts on flow deals and prep deals before underwriting.
• Support Product Development and Modernization to improve processes using AI tools.
• Source new business opportunities on municipal bonds trading in the marketplace.
• Update marketing materials to assist new business efforts across bankers, financial advisors and investors.
