Job summary

Port of Stockton is seeking an experienced Director of Accounting to lead accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting, and treasury activities. The role reports to the Deputy Port Director of Administration and supports executive leadership and the Board of Port Commissioners.

The successful candidate will bring extensive public-sector accounting experience, strong technical skills, and collaborative leadership. CPA/CMA desired; Tyler ERP knowledge is highly desirable.

Qualifications

• Eight years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including five at management level or higher.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a closely related field.
• CPA or CMA desirable; knowledge of Tyler ERP highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, forecasting, investments, cash and debt management.
• Oversee auditing and procurement functions.
• Serve as a key financial advisor to executive leadership and the Board of Port Commissioners.
