Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in communications, journalism, public policy, or related field.
• Six years of relevant experience in communications, journalism, public policy, planning, or related fields.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, with experience presenting at meetings and events, and engaging the public.
• Project management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead agency public engagement for LRTP and coordinate outreach across 13 counties.
• Manage consultant-supported public engagement efforts.
• Represent the agency at external meetings and events including professional conferences and partner meetings.
• Update and align the Public Engagement Plan with requirements.
• Plan and staff outreach events, including engaging traditionally underrepresented populations.
• Oversee the UpNext North Jersey advisory group and draft a monthly newsletter.
• Coordinate the Morris Canal Working Group with partners.
• Create videos, social media content, and publications to support the agency’s work.
• Review and edit materials related to public outreach.
