Job summary

HNTB is seeking an intern to provide basic and routine administrative support across designated departments or projects. Under supervision, you will assist with reports, data tracking, communications, and document editing in a collaborative team environment.

Candidates should be enrolled in a related undergraduate or graduate program and preferably pursuing a degree in communications, policy, government relations, planning, or a related field.

Qualifications

  • Requires High School Diploma or GED or equivalent and enrollment in a related undergraduate or graduate program.
  • Preferred: pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Communications, Policy, Government Relations, Planning, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks.
  • Interest in graphic design, layout and formatting.
  • Experience with writing and editing.

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of tasks such as preparing reports, tracking results, coordinating program developments, answering the phone, receiving messages, transmitting information, making copies, editing documents, handling routine inquiries and scheduling appointments.
  • Participates in meetings and interfaces with various teams.
  • Assists management in analyzing data.
  • Works on special projects and provides research as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Relocation and housing are not provided for this position.

What You’ll Do
  • Performs a variety of tasks which may be specific to a particular functional area of activity such as preparing reports, tracking and evaluating results, coordinating program developments, answering the phone, receiving messages, transmitting information, making copies, editing documents, handling routine inquires and making appointments.
  • Participates in meetings and interfaces with various teams.
  • Assists management in analyzing various data.
  • Works on special projects and provides research as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
