Job summary

UT Southwestern Medical Center is seeking a Public Education Community Outreach Coordinator in Psychiatry to lead outreach initiatives and enroll primary care providers in the Perinatal Psychiatry Access Network (PeriPAN) across the North Texas region.

The role supports education, program development, and recruitment efforts while managing materials, events, and partnerships with community organizations. A Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of related experience are preferred.

• Bachelors degree in business, healthcare administration, marketing, communications, or related field.
• 3 years of related experience; experience may be substituted for education.

Responsibilities

• Supports public education and community outreach efforts for the department.
• Develops and promotes projects, programs, and events related to patient/public education and outreach goals.
• Delivers information and educational programs to community members; attends outreach events region-wide.
• Assists with development of materials and resources for project implementation and evaluation.
• Contributes to ongoing updates for outreach and educational materials.
• Assists with recruitment and engages community members about programs and research opportunities.
• Oversees budget expenditures for outreach and education programs.
• May supervise staff, train, and develop work plans; coordinates timelines and workflow.
• May coordinate social media and marketing efforts; travel to outreach locations to build partnerships.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY

The Perinatal Psychiatry Access Network (PeriPAN) is a program funded via the Texas Child Mental Health Care Consortium (TCMHCC) focused on improving perinatal mental health services across the State of Texas. This position would as the entry point for the program providing outreach and enrolling primary care providers caring for pregnant or postpartum women in the program across the North Texas region.

JOB DUTIES

• Supports and assists with public education and community outreach endeavors for a department.
• Develops and/or promotes various projects, programs, and special events related to patient/public education and outreach goals.
• Delivers information/educational programs for community members, and/or the public. Attends a variety of outreach events throughout the region.
• Provides input and assist with the development of materials and resources necessary for project implementation and evaluation.
• Assists investigators with the development and ongoing updates for all outreach and educational materials.
• Assists with recruitment efforts and interact with community members while explaining available programs and research opportunities.
• Oversees and budget expenditures for community outreach and community outreach and education programs.
• May supervise staff by orienting, training, and giving ongoing feedback and assist in development of work plans. Meets regularly to ensure timelines are met; makes recommendations to improve workflow and reporting.
• May coordinate and maintain social media and marketing efforts.
• May travel to current and prospective outreach locations to build and maintain collaborative working relationships with community partners.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
