Job summary

Jackson County is seeking a Communications Director-level professional to manage daily department operations and supervise the communications staff. You will oversee public-facing materials, including press releases, newsletters, website content and social media updates.

Work with the Director on strategic planning and serve as a trusted partner in crisis communications, media response and public outreach. A Bachelor’s degree and 5+ years in communications with leadership are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, or a related field.
• 5+ years in communications with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.
• Strong writing, editing and public speaking skills. Background in government/media preferred.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen/background check.
