CWJC seeks a staff attorney for its Worcester office to provide legal assistance in public benefits matters (TAFDC, EAEDC, SNAP, MassHealth) and to represent clients in emergency shelter-related benefits. The role involves high-stakes advocacy before agencies and in court, plus community outreach and education.

The attorney will handle administrative and appellate work while engaging with the community to secure essential benefits for those in urgent need.

Qualifications

• Applicants may be third-year law students, recent graduates, or experienced attorneys.
• Commitment to poverty law and social justice.
• Experience with diverse communities and collaboration is important.
• Experience advocating for low‑income clients in public benefits or admin agency settings (clinical experience ok).
• Fluency in Spanish, Portuguese and/or Vietnamese a plus.
