Job summary

The Oregon Department of Human Services seeks a Public Benefits Specialist, Entry, to serve as the first point of contact at the front desk, handling phones, greetings, and directing clients to the right resources. You will perform data entry in ONE and MMIS, process applications, and support issuing EBT or medical cards.

Ideal candidates will have two years in a busy reception or call center and an associate degree in Behavioral or Social Science, with preference for bilingual Spanish-English.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience in a busy reception area or call center with high-volume data entry and documentation.
• Associate degree in Behavioral Science, Social Science or closely related field and six months in a busy reception or call center.
• Equivalent education, training, and experience may qualify.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the first point of contact at the front desk by answering phones and greeting visitors.
• Assist clients with applications, verify documentation, and explain programs and services.
• Perform data entry in ONE and MMIS and support issuing EBT and medical cards.
• Maintain provider records and support payments and related administrative tasks.
