Job summary

Confidential is seeking an experienced Audit quality review specialist or a PCAOB‑level team member to join our growing practice in the greater NY/NJ/PA region.

This role can be remote or hybrid with occasional travel to offices. You will mentor staff, review complex audits, and collaborate with firm leadership on strategy and compliance with evolving audit standards.

Qualifications

• 15-20 years+ experience in public company or fund audit, with a demonstrated track record of success.
• Deep technical expertise in audit and compliance.
• Strong leadership and mentorship instincts.

About the Opportunity

A middle market CPA firm is confidentially seeking an experienced Audit quality review specialist or a small PCAOB team to join our growing practice in the greater NY/NJ/DE/PA region.

Whether you've made partner at a national firm, run your own firm, or landed somewhere in between, what matters to us is what you do next.

We welcome outstanding audit professionals with a strong background in PCAOB or similar public audit roles.

This role can be partly or mostly remote although we would prefer you to have some connection to the mid Atlantic region and willingness to travel occasionally to one of our offices.

What You'll Do

• Review complex audits.
• Mentor and develop audit staff and senior associates, building bench strength across the team
• Collaborate with firm leadership on practice strategy, service line development, and cross-referral opportunities
• Stay current on evolving audit rules and regulations and translate changes into practical guidance for our internal team or for clients
• In a full time role, you would also represent the firm in the local business community, industry associations, and client-facing forums
