Job summary

IHG Hotels & Resorts in Indianapolis is hiring a Housekeeping Public Area Attendant to clean and maintain all corridors and public spaces according to our standards.

You will support Room Attendants, stock closets, handle heavy items, and respond to guest requests, while following safety procedures. The role is physical and requires weekend availability; a minimum of 1 year housekeeping experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Prior heavy duty cleaning experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year of housekeeping experience, preferably in a high-volume hotel.
• It’s a physical role and you’ll be on your feet most of the day.
• Strength – with occasional lifting of items up to 50 pounds / 23 kilograms and or push/pulling heavy objects.
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work weekends and holidays.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow cleaning standards and safety
• Professional attitude with guest and team members; must follow uniform and grooming guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Clean all public areas in the prescribed manner while following safety and security procedures and regulations to include but not limited to hallways, elevators, service areas, stairwells, etc.
• Remove soiled linen and trash from the service areas and take to the appropriate locations in the prescribed manner.
• Keep all corridors, entrances, vending and laundry areas on guest floors clean and neat.
• Assist Room Attendants with moving of heavy furniture and/or equipment or any duties as required.
• Assist with stocking all housekeeping closets with linens and other supplies.
• Maintain all cleaning equipment in good working order and report any needed maintenance repairs.
• Respond to guest requests from Housekeeping or other departments.
