Job Description

The Public Area Attendant is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of the public areas of the hotel, including the back of house areas.

Job Requirements
  • Clean and maintain the hotel lobby, meeting space, public restrooms, and other public areas.
  • Clean and maintain the surrounding areas of the hotel, including sidewalks, brass awning poles, signage, entrance, and alley.
  • Deep cleaning of assigned areas, including shampooing rooms and public areas, window washing, cleaning hotel light fixtures, and guest elevators.
  • Maintain the back of house areas, including employee break rooms, laundry room, compactor area, and employee restrooms.
  • Check and replenish supplies and cleaning tools.
  • Greet guests in a friendly and professional manner.
  • Respond promptly to guest requests.
  • Follow procedures for entering and leaving guest rooms.
  • Return lost items to the Housekeeping department's lost and found.
Job Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED; or 1-3 months related experience/training; or equivalent.
  • Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and manuals; write routine reports.
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, handle objects, reach, climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, talk, hear, and smell; occasionally sit.
  • Lift/move up to 15 pounds regularly, 20-30 pounds frequently, and over 35 pounds occasionally. Vision abilities include close, distance, and depth perception.
