Job summary

Peoples Gas System is seeking an External Affairs Analyst to support connections between the company, local government, and Floridian communities. This role focuses on franchise agreements, policy analysis, and community relations within the Florida natural gas sector.

You will work with the External Affairs team to monitor legislation, engage stakeholders, and coordinate economic development activities while supporting budget processes and communications.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree required; 3+ years in government relations/public affairs is preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to prepare presentations.
• Knowledge of local government structures and practices; ability to analyze政策 (note: keep concise)

Responsibilities

• Franchise Agreement Management: develop plans to advance local initiatives and secure franchise agreements in the natural gas sector.
• Legislative Tracking & Policy Analysis: assist with tracking and policy analysis on pending state legislation; research impacts on energy industry.
• Stakeholder Engagement & Issue Management: coordinate stakeholder engagement and track issues affecting the business.
• Community Engagement & Relations: drive community support through local contributions and sponsorships.
• Economic Development Analysis & Customer Requests: review requests and prepare high-quality reports on growth opportunities.
• Budget Management & Team Support: provide administrative oversight of the department budget and support the team.
