PLUS Communications, a full-service firm based in Arlington, Virginia, is seeking a Public Affairs Manager to develop and execute communications plans across accounts and policy areas. You will craft messaging, write press materials, and manage client projects including annual reports for diverse audiences.

The ideal candidate distills complex policy issues, coordinates media outreach, and leads grassroots efforts in a fast-paced agency environment with a strong AP Style foundation.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of public affairs or communications experience.
• Proven writing and editing experience with press involvement.
• Strong understanding of AP Style.
• Ability to distill technical content for varied audiences.
• Experience managing multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Craft narratives by distilling complex policy and regulatory information into messaging.
• Draft press releases, talking points, media statements, op-eds, fact sheets.
• Manage grassroots field teams for coalition building and local earned media efforts.
• Coordinate media outreach and cultivate relationships with reporters.
• Develop presentations, collateral materials, strategic plans and other reports.
• Track deliverables and serve as a project manager for key accounts.
• Liaise between internal team, client, other agency partners and external vendors.
