Job summary

Tallgrass Energy invites students to join the Government & Public Affairs (Finance) internship. You will work in a fast-paced environment, creating public affairs content, supporting outreach, and helping with data and communications tasks.

The role runs 10 weeks in Summer 2027, with in-person/remote hybrid options in Lakewood or Houston. Eligible candidates are enrolled in a bachelor’s program in business, public affairs, or communications, with expected graduation between December 2026 and May

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in approved bachelor’s program with graduation between Dec 2026 and May 2028.
• Ability to collect, organize, interpret, and present data with accuracy.
• Capable of following supervisor directions and meeting work schedules.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Public Affairs & Communications content for public engagements and stakeholder activities (one-pagers, flyers, background materials).
• Help create and update community outreach lists (legislators, state officials, county/municipal leaders).
• Schedule meetings, track data, and take notes during engagements.
• Draft internal summaries, policy issues, and op-eds or internal newsletters.
• Distribute clips to leadership twice weekly via media monitoring platform.
• Support digital and traditional communications and campaigns.
