Moore & Van Allen PLLC, a dynamic and fast-growing full-service law firm in Charlotte with more than 400 attorneys and professionals, seeks a Director of Public Affairs to support public affairs and advocacy initiatives. The role requires researching legislative developments, coordinating projects, and producing reports and publications for clients.

You will monitor federal, state, and local actions, supervise projects, and help with client engagement and business development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree is required; Political Science or related field preferred.
• 7–10 years of federal or state government, government relations, or political campaign experience.
• Strong writing and communications skills, with proofreading and public speaking abilities.

Responsibilities

• Organizes and supervises client public affairs projects involving research and analysis, writing, editing and publishing of documents.
• Research and monitors bills, laws, regulations and other official actions at the federal, state and local level; studies proposed legislation to determine and analyze the possible effect on the interests of the client.
• Research federal, state and local budgets and economic, employment and other pertinent issues.
• Coordinates and assigns different aspects of projects to appropriate support staff.
• Assembles and edits research from multiple staff into coherent presentations using MS Office Suite and Adobe Software.
• Assists with organizing client and professional development activities.
• Regular and in-person attendance is required to perform essential functions of the position.
