Joby is seeking a Senior Manager of Public Affairs & Defense Communications to lead its public affairs, regulatory and defense communications from the Washington, DC office. The role partners with Government Affairs, Defense, Legal and executives to shape narratives for policy initiatives and government partnerships.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in public affairs, policy or strategic communications.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent industry experience.
• Experience in government, aerospace, defense, transportation or other regulated industries.
• Strong writing and editing skills for executive audiences.
• Ability to advise senior leaders and prepare executives for media engagements.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute communications strategies supporting policy, regulatory and defense priorities.
• Collaborate with Government Affairs, Defense, Legal and executives to align communications with business objectives.
• Prepare messaging and materials for legislative, regulatory initiatives and government partnerships.
• Build relationships with journalists and policymakers; manage media interviews and events.
• Draft press materials, briefing docs, Q&A, speeches and executive correspondence.
• Monitor policy developments and provide strategic communications recommendations.
