Job description

Sheridan Health & Rehabilitation, in partnership with Evolve Therapy Services is currently seeking both Part-Time and PRN Physical Therapy Assistants (PTA) to join our growing team in the Kenosha, WI area. We are looking for passionate Physical Therapist Assistants to join our team. As a PTA, you will work alongside our therapists to empower patients in their activities of daily living, and help develop strategies and treatment plans to support patient growth and overcoming challenges.

This position is part-time or per diem.

Job Functions:
  1. Provide physical therapy services to residents under the supervision of the Physical Therapist.
  2. Conduct screenings of residents to determine the need for intervention/treatment.
  3. Identify indications for evaluations at appropriate intervals and assist in the evaluation under the direction of the Physical Therapist.
  4. Assist the Physical Therapist in identifying a target list, including short-term and long-term goals and treatment plans.
  5. Conduct individual and group treatments as assigned, covering areas such as muscle strength, coordination, mobility, sensory awareness, sitting and standing, transfer training, balance activities, gait training, range of motion, and modalities.
  6. Assist in selecting physical therapy techniques/media and in sequencing activities, adapting techniques/media as indicated by the resident’s performance and following consultation with the Physical Therapist.
  7. Monitor residents’ responses to interventions and consult with the Physical Therapist if modifications are needed.
  8. Assist in establishing and modifying individual resident schedules in conjunction with the Physical Therapist and team members.
  9. Adhere to department and resident schedules, modifying as appropriate for treatment regimens.
  10. Train residents, family, and staff in the use or application of equipment.
  11. Participate in resident, family, and staff education.
  12. Demonstrate sound judgment in the evaluation, planning, implementation, and follow-up of resident therapy programs.
  13. Report on time and coordinate schedules to maximize productivity and efficiency.
  14. Assist with and participate in the Quality Assurance Program as required.
  15. Complete compliant and medically necessary documentation using NetHealth EMR systems.
Requirements:
  1. Associate’s Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited program.
  2. Maintain ongoing continuing education and professional development.
  3. Active Physical Therapy Assistant license in the state(s) of practice.
  4. Responsibility for ongoing education to maintain licensure and certification.
