Presbyterian Village North in Dallas is seeking a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to join our Therapy Department on a PRN basis. You will work under the Physical Therapist to provide resident therapy treatments and help document progress in the medical record.

In this faith-based senior care setting, you will educate residents and families on therapy modalities, participate in programming, and ensure safety and quality care.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in Texas required.
• Knowledge of therapy industry regulations and guidelines.
• Ability to organize, prioritize and manage multiple tasks.

Responsabilités

• Provide resident therapy treatments as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Document treatment and progress notes in the medical record per policy.
• Educate residents, families and staff about Physical Therapy modalities.
• Demonstrate sound clinical judgment in resident treatments.
• Screen residents to determine need for physical therapy intervention.
• Develop and participate in physical therapy programming for residents.
• Attend in-services and meetings as required.
• Maintain continuing education per state licensure requirements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Physical Therapist and Rehab Director.

Presbyterian Village North is currently looking for Physical Therapist Assistants to join our fantastic team PRN in our Therapy Department.

Position: PRN

Days Available: Monday – Friday; maybe some weekend availability

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Model a service attitude towards others, takes ownership in solving problems and takes the initiative to make things better, is friendly and courteous to residents, patients, visitors, and co-workers
• Ensure resident, patient, visitor, and co-worker safety by remaining aware of and reporting any new or existing safety hazards
• Provide resident therapy treatments as directed by the Physical Therapist
• Document treatment and progress notes and other clinical work in the medical record per departmental policy and procedure
• Provide resident, family and staff education pertaining to Physical Therapy modalities to ensure understanding and proficiency of care
• Demonstrates good clinical judgment in all aspects of resident treatments in which trained to provide
• Screening residents to determine their potential benefit from physical therapy intervention and communicate need for intervention to Physical Therapist
• Develops, directs and/or participates in physical therapy programming for the residents
• Attends in-services and other meetings as required on an ongoing basis
• Maintains continuing education per state licensure requirements
• Other duties as assigned by the Physical Therapist and Director of Rehab

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant in the state of Texas
• Knowledge of therapy industry and federal, state and local government regulations
• Demonstrated ability to organize, prioritize and complete multiple tasks in a dynamic environment
• Demonstrated efficiency strategies for fast paced environment
• Experience in SNF/LTC/IL/AL/OP setting or mature population rehabilitation and wellness needs
• Experience with PDPM treatment and reimbursement policy
• Basic computer skills, Outlook, Word, Excel
• Genuine caring for and interest in the care of mature adults, handicapped people and hospice patients
• Ability to perform work tasks within the Physical Demand Requirements
• Ability to perform Essential Duties
• Ability to comply with the Resident Bill of Rights and the Employee Responsibilities
• Ability to comply with organizational and departmental safety policies and procedures
